In this team taught course, students will explore the concept of innovation as it relates to ministry. This may mean innovating within an existing institutional structure or the development of an idea outside of what is considered traditional ministry. As a central component of the class, students will identify, develop and advance an individual innovative project. This course will include guest lectures on topics ranging from social innovation, design thinking to leadership development. We will hear from entrepreneurs from the business sector and from religious/spiritual innovators. Several classes will be held off campus at the Harvard iLab, the Media Lab at MIT, and at a local maker space. The class will include peer-to-mentoring as well as coaching. The class meetings will consist of guest and instructor led discussions on readings and course projects. Limit 12. AOM: Administration and Program Development; Religious Education and Spiritual Development; Public Leadership, Community Organizing & Planning.
